AWANA

AWANA CLUBS:  AWANA takes place during the school year on Wednesdays from 6:15-8:00 p.m.  Comite has adopted the program of AWANA Clubs International to minister to the children of our church and community.  AWANA is a Bible-centered organization for preschoolers (three and four years old) through sixth grade.  The goal of AWANA is to reach boys and girls for Christ and to train them to serve Him by hiding His word in their hearts.  The program is a structured, well-prepared, and fun ministry that teaches children the Bible and important character qualities, such as teamwork, sharing, obedience to authority, and discipline.  The club meets once a week and uses the church’s gym and classroom facilities.

The name AWANA is an acronym: Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, taken from the verse II Timothy 2:15: “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”
