WALK PDF Print

“We  exhorted each one of you and encouraged you and charged you to walk in a manner worthy of God, who calls you into His own kingdom and glory.”  1 Thessalonians 2:12 (ESV)

The idea is that you and I, as followers of Christ, have become part of an alternate kingdom.  No doubt this is somewhat difficult to grasp at first, but is a basic truth that comes into greater focus as we align ourselves with God's perfect will.

Peter defends this teaching as he addresses the recipients of his first letter – calling them strangers or exiles in this land (meaning this present existence).  We were formerly citizens of this world that surrounds us but, through the power of God and His salvation we have now become citizens of another realm.

As members of this alternate world – we are purposed with a task.  This task is a responsibility to obey the words of our King and follow His example by proclaiming the gospel of love to those who will listen!

We help bring this about, by accepting the charge given us in God’s Word to walk (live) in an entirely different way . . . thereby, exposing the metamorphosis taking place within our lives and the possibility for others to experience the same.  Causing them to want what we have!

Our motives now find their roots buried within the mind of Christ!  Our pursuits become dictated by a Holy presence within rather than the carnal nature that’s been discarded.  Having died to self, we now – in this present world – strive to walk in a manner that is worthy of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

In order that you might taste and experience true life, full life, you must come and join the real walking dead!
