"Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul.  Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation."  1 Peter 2:11-12 ESV

As an Apostle, as one who walked with Christ and was sent by Christ to the uttermost, Peter understood what it meant to be an exile in this present world.  His focus, his motivation, his determined effort in living, changed as Christ entered into his heart.  Peter's  thoughts, will, and actions became the property of another.  He changed into a new man, one whose life was forfeited for his Lord.  The overriding desire throughout his life was to share the gospel – and all that accepting this good news of hope implied.

We, who are Christ's offspring, must heed this message of surrender, so that the world we walk in might see the heaven we've been born into.

Be the exile you were born to be!
