Our acknowledgment of God as King is seen or experienced in our desire to worship Him with our entire being.  If we recognize God as absolute, then surrender marks our daily lives as we walk in this created world.  But unfortunately, many who proclaim devotion are simply going through the motions – seen clearly in their propensity to allow this world and its desires to take precedence.

How often in your journey do you allow entertainment or personal gain to supersede your God-called act of worship?   How much energy and passion is expended in your life regarding your personal pleasures or advancement without an inkling of whether that choice is God's will for you?

Remember, as a disciple of Christ, He is our King, our sovereign Lord.  His will is our way – not the enticements of this world.

May we not be these ...

"‘These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me.  Their worship is a farce, for they teach man-made ideas as commands from God.'"  Matthew 15:8-9 NLT

But may we instead be these ...

"Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!  For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand."  Psalm  95:6-7 ESV

Give yourself completely to worshiping your King!
